A Gilbert bedroom had one large, empty wall behind the bed. The homeowner wanted texture and warmth without a full remodel. A wood slat accent wall was the answer — a custom-built panel of vertical wood slats mounted to a backer, finished to match the room.

A flat, painted wall — clean but plain. No architectural detail, no texture, no warmth. The kind of wall that disappears behind a bed frame.
The build.
We mounted a backer panel to the wall, then cut and installed the wood slats one at a time — consistent spacing, consistent depth, sanded and finished in place. The finish was matched to the room so the wall reads as part of the home, not a stuck-on panel.
After.
The wall went from empty to the focal point of the room. Warm, textured, and built to last. The same approach works behind a TV, in a dining room, or as a headboard wall.

It depends on the wall size, the wood species, and the slat spacing. We quote it as a flat-rate job after seeing the wall. Most bedroom accent walls come in well under a full remodel budget.
How long does an accent wall take to install?+
A single bedroom wall is usually one to two visits — measuring and cutting the slats, mounting the backer, installing the slats, and finishing. Larger walls or full-room treatments take longer.
What wood do you use for slat accent walls?+
We have used riftsawn white oak, pine, and pre-finished MDF depending on the look and budget. The finish — oil, stain, or paint — is matched to the room.
